Path of the Gnomes
Path of the Gnomes
This "Path of the Gnomes" is marked with coloured signposting and begins at the public park in Bagno di Romagna, in Via Lungosavio. Once over the bridge on the Savio river you will find yourself immediately immersed in the fantasy world of the woods: you climb through the lush vegetation amidst rocks and boulders along the Armina stream.
The trail is wide, easy, safe, well-marked and has a number of small bridges, illustrated signs and stone sculptures, animal silhouettes and wooden houses where children can leave messages for the friendly Gnomes. When you reach the spring, go left and climb slightly, following the signs to the right to the Radura degli gnomi (Gnomes' Glade) where you can rest on the wooden seats before descending to the spring again. The path is little over 2 km and easy to follow, and can be walked with ease in about 45 minutes.
Many people of all ages take this path: for some it provides an opportunity for a relaxing walk in the cool of the woods, while for others a first encounter with nature and for children the chance to explore their imagination and enjoy a fairy-tale world. It also provides an opportunity for their parents to rediscover the power of the Gnomes!
