Palazzo Biozzi in Bagno di Romagna

Palazzo Biozzi in Bagno di Romagna

The building stands on Piazza Ricasoli, in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta. Since the sixteenth century it has been the residence of the Biozzi family, a large landowner in the surrounding area and in Maremma, which has provided notaries, abbots, lawyers, doctors and government personnel to the local community.

The building, home to the original branch, grew above all in the seventeenth century, incorporating and modifying previous and adjacent buildings and part of the castle walls, becoming an intricate suggestive of rooms.

The façade assumed its definitive form between 1888 and 1890 when the medieval gate of the castle that ran between the palace and the Basilica was demolished, closing the town.

Purchased in 1952 by the Ròseo family, it was first transformed into the "Pensione Giardino", open since 1956, then into the current "Grand'Hotel Terme Ròseo" which - after careful renovation - re-proposes the original stately atmosphere, full of charm and architecturally interesting.
