Maestà Milanesi a Ca' Pasquino

Maestà Milanesi di Ca' Pasquino

It is a pillar, tall and slender, with only one finely worked hollow with overlapped cell or niche - now empty - once overlapped by an iron cross. It was erected by grace received, as the dedication indicates: "GIUSEPPE MILANESI AND CHILDREN SUNDAY AND MAURIZIO TO THANKS TO MOTHER DIVINE POSERO 1926". In the winter of 1926 a snowy swoop swept Domenico and Maurizio Milanesi while they were working around the water intake of their mill under Ca 'di Pasquino, and dragged Domenico into the Bidente in full: Maurizio, freed himself from the snow, succeeded in get the brother out of the water. A few months later the two, together with his father, built the majesty as a sign of escaped danger and in honor of Our Lady.

Getting here

BY CAR: from S. Piero in Bagno take the left-hand road SP 26 and follow it up to 14 km where you take on the left a winding municipal road which in 6 km leads to the hamlet of Poggio alla Lastra. Instead coming from Forlì to S. Sofia you follow the SP 26, and at km 1.00 you turn right into the municipal road. Once in Poggio alla Lastra, shortly after you follow the dirt track on the left that with gentle ups and downs always runs along the Bidente to Pietrapazza (10 km): the majesty is just before reaching the church.
