Lapide nel Palazzo delle Scuole Elementari a S. Piero in Bagno

It is located above the entrance door of the building of the elementary schools of S. Piero in Bagno, in Largo Moutiers No. 8. It is of marble, rectangular in shape, and is engraved: "IN THESE AULE, CONSECRATE TO THE EDUCATION OF THE FANCIULLI, WILL CONVENIATE THE CHILDREN OF THE PEOPLE, AND FROM THE SAVI TEACHERS, TRAGGANO, CULTURE TO THE MIND, TO THE FIRST FORTRESS AND DECORATION, REASON TO THE PATRON OF SAFE HOPES MDCCCLXXXXIV - LXXXXVIII ". It was dictated by Ferdinando Martini, writer and politician, Minister of Education, and placed on the new school building designed by the architect Cesare Spighi, to commemorate its construction (1894-1898).
