The cottage "Don Fernando Giovannetti" is located in the village of Poggio alla Lastra, at the beginning of the Pietrapazza abandoned valley. The cottage, which boosts 65 beds in 12 rooms with private bathroom, fully furnished kitchen, dining room, 4 meeting rooms, sports fields and parking, is open all year round. The cottage, which once wasn an aristocratic country retreat for the local lords, can be booked by a minimum of fifty people. You need to bring your own food and drink.

The holiday house has been named after don Ferdinando Giovannetti, that is the old but very active parish priest of Poggio alla Lastra who in 1935 purchased a palace from an ancient rich local family and transformed it into a nursery school for the inaccessible small town you could reach only along mule tracks.
After long works, the nursery school was inaugurated on 21st September 1941 and was entrusted to the nuns of "Istituto delle Orsoline" in Gandino. It carried out an intense entertainment, educational, and religious activity, and also housed a winter working school for girls until the beginning of the 70s, when Poggio alla Lastra was populated by a few families.
