Cippo di Passo Serra
Cippo di Passo Serra
The stone is a large boulder of roughly rough-hewn stone, engraved on it: "HERE, BETWEEN ROMAGNA AND TUSCANY, THE ANCIENT ROUTE OF ROMEI, WHICH WAS BORN FROM THE MIDDLE AGES, THE NORTH EUROPE IN ROME, VARCA ANCORA, ALPE DI SERRA ". It was placed on the summit of Passo di Serra (1148 m asl), on the saddle between Romagna and Tuscany, from the Municipality of Bagno di Romagna in 1998 during the construction of the trail network "Val di Bagno Trek" to remember the transit of medieval pilgrims on this medieval "Romea" way. And also a tribute to the homo viator.
Located at the top of Passo Serra, on the ridge between Romagna and Tuscany, it is reachable from Gualchiere, south of Bagno with the ancient mule track that connects Bagno with the Casentino (CAI path 177 and Val di Bagno Trek). Starting from Bagno di Romagna, you must follow the SP in a southerly direction. 138 and then the SP. 137, up to (about 1 km) to a square on the side of the road, where the route begins on the right (km 5.00).
