This complex consists of two mills situated over the Bidente di Pietrapazza river. In the past, a channel, now buried underground, carried water down to the wooden blades of the horizontal millstones. Now this cabin stands between the two mills.
The old public mill, abandoned in 1968, is now owned by the Region of Emilia -Romagna and on grant to the "National Park of the Casentino Forests, Mount Falterone and Campigna" which has restored the buildings, renovated the millstones and created an environmental education centre and accommodation. The property is managed by the Association "Esploramontagne", whose main aim is to promote hiking, trekking, eco-tourism and environmental education.
