Tourist Information Office - Visitor Centre of the National Park of the Casentino Forests

The Tourist Information Office - Visitor Centre of the National Park of the Casentino Forests is housed in the historic building of the central Palazzo del Capitano and offers tourists and passing visitors all the information required to fully enjoy a holiday in Bagno di Romagna. Here you can find all the latest information on restaurants, hotels, hiking, spa and wellness treatments and evening events, art exhibitions and public transport. During the high season, you can also book your last minute holiday here by choosing where to sleep from our wide range of accommodation. The "Visitor Centre" of the National Park of the Casentino Forests aims to describe the area, indicate the best way to enjoy the park and can advise visitors on excursions and accommodation to make their stay in this protected area as interesting and pleasurable as possible. It is also possible to purchase gadgets, guide-books and maps for use by hikers, as well as booking the services of official guides for excursions. The Centre was designed with exhibition stands that are both original and educational in order increase environmental awareness. The "Visitor Centre" in Bagno di Romagna is themed on "Geology and Spas." On the ground floor there is a silhouette of a beech-tree showing all the birds typically found in a beech-wood, and a model of the National Park of the Casentino Forests showing the shape of the territory and all the waterways on the two mountain-sides. On the first floor the "Stanza delle suggestioni" (Room of feelings) enables you to immerse yourself in an environment dominated by water, while the "Stanza dell'apprendimento" (Learning room) teaches you to recognise what you come across in the park thanks to the "L'Armadio dei suoni e dei segni" (The Wardrobe of sounds and signs). There are also models and interactive exhibits that are particularly well-suited to communicating information and suitable for learning more about subjects such as geology and thermal waters, especially for children and school groups. It is possible to make use of the exhibition halls of the Visitor Centre in two ways: those who are interested in just wandering through can explore the rooms at no cost and receive a short information card about the park. Admission is free to the public during opening hours; those, especially school groups, who are interested in a more detailed visit can have a detailed guided tour of the rooms during opening hours to the public, followed by a walk in the nearby part of the town centre and the spas at a cost of € 70 (VAT included) by contacting the association "Esploramontagne" at the following telephone numbers: 339/7794029 or 328/2355689.
