Stele ai Caduti della Grande Guerra a Corzano
Located on the Corzano hill, on the side of the mule track that climbs from S. Piero in Bagno, it is a dangerous concrete column, about 8 meters high, at the top of which a sandstone ball surmounted by a metallic star and a lighthouse. A worn marble plaque lists the 72 fallen of S. Piero in Bagno of the Second World War. It was erected in 1922 - as can be seen from the metallite flag at the top of the column - from the "GOB" (Good Opera Group): a small association of lay people (craftsmen, stonemasons, masons ...) that from the end of the First World War in numerous maintenance and embellishment works of the Corzano Sanctuary.
You can arrive by car from San Piero in Bagno following the directions (km 2), or walk along the beautiful mule track rebuilt and restored by the association "Il Faro di Corzano" (km 1).
