Ponte Bottega sul Bidente di Pietrapazza
Ponte Bottega sul Bidente di Pietrapazza
It is in round arched masonry and connected the parishes of Strabatenza and Casanova dell'Alpe to the mule track of the valley that from Poggio alla Lastra reached Pietrapazza. It was built in 1857, replacing a sheet pile with sides of mortar walls, by Jacopo Zuccherelli, who was an acceding to the maintenance of the road in the area, based on a project by the municipal assistant Paolo Crociati. The valuable artefact, a reference point for some mule tracks leading to Strabatenza, Casanova dell'Alpe and Ridracoli, has recently been restored.
BY CAR: From S. Piero in Bagno you enter on the SP. 26 which leads into the Bidente valley, and runs up to 14 km where, just above S. Sofia, turn left onto a winding municipal road that leads to the hamlet of Poggio alla Lastra in 6 km. From here follow for about 4 km. the dirt track on the left that skirts the Bidente with ups and downs: you can see the bridge on the right, just beyond the equipped area "Ponte del Faggio".
